EastEnders is in line for a shock collapse for Amy Mitchell

EastEnders spoilers follow.

Amy makes a big mistake in upcoming EastEnders scenes airing next week when she makes a foolish decision while trying to impress Denzel — and ends up in the hospital as a result.

The drama unfolds when the teens head to Denise’s birthday party and tension is already in the air with Lily not happy about the flirtation between Amy and Denzel.

Lily doesn’t take the jealousy well and sees Stuart’s pills fall from his bag. She wastes little time wiping them all down – only to be engrossed by Denise.

But Amy is eager to show Denzel that she can be fun, so she squeezes a pill herself and takes half, leading to fear for everyone when she collapses.

While Amy is taken to the hospital, Martin asks Lily where the pills came from – and he is sure Denzel is somehow guilty. While the truth comes out, Jack makes it clear to Amy that he doesn’t want her to see Denzel again, but we have a feeling she might not be listening to him…

Abbie Burke has played the role of Amy Michell since 2014, but she left the role earlier in the year as EastEnders producers started looking at more mature storylines for the character.

Ellie Dadd was their pick to be the new Amy, and she made her BBC One soap opera debut in episodes aired last week.

A Mitchell with a new face is hardly anything new in EastEnders. We’re already on our fourth Ben, or six if you count the actors who played him as a baby.

Sam has also had a face swap with two actresses who have shared that role over the years, and the character recently made a brilliant return, played by Kim Medcalf. Plus, even Peggy Mitchell was originally played by another actress, with Barbara Windsor second to play the character. Who knows?

EastEnders airs Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One, with some episodes on BBC Two during summer sporting events. The show is also being streamed on BBC iPlayer.
