Inti Creates, the developer behind Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 – the highly anticipated third mainline game in the series – has acknowledged that there is a data corruption bug in the Switch version of the game.

If you share the information on Twitter, the bug can occur when you delete a save file and then change the settings or language options on the title screen. Doing so will corrupt the last played save file. The problem seems to have only occurred since the game was updated to ver. 1.0.2.

Fortunately, Inti Creates has confirmed that it is working on a patch to fix the issue. It also shared tips to avoid the problem in the meantime.

We shared the statement below along with the original tweet:

Important information about Gunvolt 3 Save Bug
A bug has been discovered in the Nintendo Switch version of Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 that can corrupt saved data. See the following information for methods to avoid this bug. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Details about the problem
The following problem exists in the Azure Striker Gunvolt on Nintendo Switch from afar. 1.0.2.
If you delete a save file from the file selection screen and then change the settings or language options in the title screen, the last played save box will be misread.
Starting the game from this slot and then encountering an auto-save or manual save will corrupt this save slot.

How to avoid
If you encounter a situation that could cause this problem before a new update is released, please close the application before the game can be automatically saved (this occurs when you change settings). Restart the game to resume the game normally.
If a repository is already corrupted, delete that repository or copy save data from a working lock over it to restore functionality in that repository.

Update information and apologies
We sincerely apologize to all customers who have been affected by this issue.
We are already preparing a patch to fix the issue. We will announce a distribution date for the update as soon as possible. Use the above methods until the patch is available to avoid the save bug.

Hopefully the patch will be ready for players pretty soon so you don’t have to dance, and we’re glad Inti Creates quickly recognized the issue. We will update you once the bug is fixed.

In our review of Azure Striker Gunvolt 3, we complemented the new playable character and clean level design, stating that the “focus on the ranking system makes this a highly replayable experience”.
