Toulouse stand-off Corey Norman has been hit with an eight-game suspension after he was found guilty of intentionally placing a hand between the buttocks of Warrington’s Oliver Holmes.
The Australian has been charged with the highest possible offense that could be thrown at him, following the incident that occurred in their 32-18 Betfred Super League defeat on Thursday.
His sentence means he will no longer play a part in the French side’s battle to avoid relegation this season.

Norman’s ban is for ‘deliberately putting his hands and fingers on Oliver Holmes’ buttocks’
The Australian has been charged with the highest possible offense and was also fined
Norman pleaded not guilty at his disciplinary hearing after being charged with an F violation — the highest possible — which carries an eight-game suspension.
But Her Honor Justice Sarah Wright, who chaired the independent tribunal for operational rules, said the panel was “completely satisfied” that the act was deliberate and that a £500 fine was also issued.
Subject to a successful appeal, he will miss the rest of the season, while the verdict could spell the end of his career as he only came out of retirement to sign a short-term deal with Toulouse.
The ruling, published by the Rugby Football League, read: ‘The footage of the incident shows an intentional movement of Corey Norman’s left arm and hand over Oliver Holmes’ top and onto his buttocks.

The 31-year-old’s future is now up for debate after signing just a short-term deal with Toulouse
At no point does the footage show the pants being grabbed to push Oliver Holmes down, as described by Corey Norman.
“The images show an intentional placement of Corey Norman’s hands and fingers on the buttocks and coupled with Holmes’ immediate complaint, his teammate Danny Walker’s response and Holmes’ statement that we measured, we deem fully satisfied that this was deliberately placing a hand between the opponent’s buttocks and we find the charge proven.’
Norman has started all 11 games since making his Super League debut in May.
Toulouse is bottom on ten points after 23 games – with just four games left until the end of the season.
Last July, Kenny Edwards was banned for 10 games for putting his fingers in an opponent’s bottom while playing for Huddersfield, while Catalans rear rower Joel Tomkins was banned for eight games for a similar offense in 2020
